Remove the feeler gauge. Then, while holding the adjusting tool to prevent the adjusting screw from moving, tighten the locknut with the 10 mm wrench. Remove the adjusting tool and wrench and recheck the clearance. Assuming it's still ok, use a 10 mm socket to torque the locknut to 14 N-m.

heybuddy1901. Posted June 29, 2007. The owner's manual recomends Pro Honda GN4 SAE 10w-40 SJ oil. I used regular Valvoline 10w-40 auto oil in my CRF150F for four years without a bit of trouble. Still has the original clutch plates in it. I do change the oil every tank full of gas, some times longer, but not much longer.
Within the family line, the CRF230L is a more versatile step up from the off-road-only CRF230F. Both bikes share the same 65.5mm x 66.2mm bore and stroke, 223cc air-cooled SOHC two-valve Thumper, but the street-capable L model inhales through a larger 30mm CV carb while the F model uses a smaller 26mm piston-valve carb.

The CRF230F handles very well where there's tight turns and obstacles. This is partly because it's in between a midsize and full size dirt bike. The CRF230 has full size wheels (21/18″), but the seat height is much lower than a typical full-size bike. This creates a low center of gravity, which is great for cornering.
